The following campuses represent targets for proposed new ministries. These are colleges or universities with no current Chi Alpha ministry and in some cases with little or no other Pentecostal or Evangelical ministry taking place on campus. Individuals interested in discussing these opportunities or desiring additional information regarding qualifications and application procedure are invited to contact Vic Varis, the Oregon Chi Alpha Director.
Western Oregon University * Eastern Oregon University * Southern Oregon University
Western Oregon University, Monmouth
Western Oregon University is a traditional residential campus of 4500 students located 15 miles west of Salem and the I-5 corridor. Established in 1856, it is the oldest public university on the West Coast and in Oregon. Today WOU hosts one of Oregon's largest teacher education programs as well as the Oregon Police Academy and Oregon Military Academy.
A strong campus oriented church is near WOU that hosts a large number of stduents. This church is very interested in partnering with a Chi Alpha ministry.
Southern Oregon University is a traditional residential campus of 4500 students located 15 miles north of the California border on I-5. Situated in sunny Ashland, Southern Oregon University combines quality education with a spectacular location. Surrounded by rugged mountains, rivers, and lakes, the beautiful 175-acre campus is home to 5,500 students from around the world. SOU, a four-year university specializing in liberal arts, sciences and select graduate and professional programs,
Rivergate is an A/G worship community literally 1 block from the campus. Historically the church has had strong connections to campus and community.
Eastern Oregon University, La Grande
Eastern Oregon University is a traditional residential campus of 2000 students serving northeastern Oregon from it's beautiful location in the Grande Ronde Valley near the Wallowa mountains. At one time EOU was home to Chi Alpha's largest campus ministry in Oregon.
